Welcome to Yakology.com… The adventures of kayaking. My wife and I being native Floridians remember in the late 60’s the kayak was typically a thin sit-inside shell of a cheap piece of crap.Kayaks have come a long way and so have we. Today we are in Hobie’s with paddle and pedal capabilities. We have a tandem and two singles, perfect for hanging together or taking a couple friends along if need be. No matter where we find ourselves, the Hobie’s always meet the challenge.
My favorite times are when we shove off just before the crack of dawn and head about a half mile out and face due East. The sky on fire in orange and purple, nature in motion as lines of pelicans above and bird life awakens. The sound of water and silence and then it happens. That giant ball of fire peaks in the horizon as another day begins.
Work has had us jumping from Florida to North Carolina to Louisiana, back to Florida and then back to North Carolina, and now…. we find ourselves both finally retired and living on the Alabama side of beautiful Perdido Bay.We are still in the middle of moving and selling the house in North Carolina and can’t wait to make the Hobie’s a daily part of our lives. When were not kayaking you can find us busy with our six year old, 230lb., male,Neo-Mastiff “Echo” and our two, three year old, female English Mastiffs, also sisters,” Lillie “and “Pheobe”. So, thanks for stopping by, hopefully more adventures to begin soon!
